We start our tour with a true highlight. Early in the morning, you will be picked up at the hotel and transferred to Paraiso via the former capital Cartago. You will enjoy a typical breakfast and continue the journey via Turrialba to Tres Equis. That’s where today’s rafting tour will initiate. For every raft, teams of four to eight participants must be formed. A professional rafting guide on each raft gives you a safety instruction. For the rafting, your luggage size must be restricted to the minimum for storage in dry sacks. Your main luggage is safely stored and returned to you on day 4. Now, the refreshing adventure starts. Today’s part down to the Pacuare Lodge takes only about one hour and as a team you will learn to pass class III cataracts. Tomorrow, this knowledge will come at hand when passing class IV cataracts. For white-water rafting, teamwork is crucial. Only a coordinated execution of the manoeuvres keeps a raft stable in difficult situations. But no worries: The professional rafting guides assure the necessary security, even though one or another could fall out of the raft for a moment! At Pacuare Lodge each participant changes the wet clothes for a set of dry ones brought along. The lodge is situated in tropical rainforest on the shores of Pacuare River. Considering its location, Pacuare Lodge is rustic yet comfortable. If available, participants will be accommodated at single bungalows. If the lodge is fully booked, 2 participants share a bungalow with two separate beds. The repartition takes place spontaneously on-site. In the afternoon, you may participate in a jungle hike or an adventures canopy tour. Later on, appetizers are served in a cosy rancho. Dinner is served with candlelight.
