Monteverde

Monteverde

The development of this area began some decades ago with the settlement of North American Quakers looking to live a quiet and secluded life in harmony with nature. Besides dairy farming, they were dedicated to protecting the surrounding cloud forest and eventually created the now world-famous “Monteverde Reserve”. Due to the constant ascent of tourists wishing to visit this area, many villagers decided to build and manage mostly small, rustic hotels or lodges and nowadays Monteverde offers many different options of accommodations.

Miramar / Las Juntas

These villages serve to place the geographical location of La Ensenada Lodge at Playa Pájaros. Las Juntas also is a perfect starting point to head off to Monteverde. La Ensenada Lodge is located right on the gulf's coastline and being there is just like travelling back in time.

The cattle ranch ambience and old-west-feel are outstanding, and you will be able to enjoy it while riding a horse around this beautiful blend of countryside imagery and gulf view, of course, a boat ride will be lovely as well. In its pastures, they grow their own vegetables, breed cattle and produce salt. Each and every night, guests will eyewitness romantic sunsets at Pájaros Beach.
