I was born and raised in Costa Rica. My great-grandfather immigrated to Costa Rica in 1920 and raised his family here. By family tradition I studied at the German school in Costa Rica. At the age of 16 I went to Mainz where I lived for 6 months with a German family and at the age of 23 I lived for 1 year in Stuttgart as an exchange student at the University of Hohenheim.
