Near the Pacific Ocean in southern Costa Rica, the Térraba and the Sierpe Rivers form a network of canals and thick mangrove swamps of great scenic beauty. This area protects a large number of birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals that can be easily seen thanks to the navigable canals.
These are the largest mangrove wetlands in Costa Rica and are among the largest in Central America.
